Being sick is awful for a myriad of reasons, but I will only focus on one for now: the loss of appetite.
I am getting over the w o r s t flu experience of recent memory and the minute the bug settled in my system, my desire for anything (except sleep) disintegrated. I think about food a lot (surely we all do right?); so when I started to get nauseated by food, I got sad. But this is my drive for life?! I kept thinking… if I don’t want to obsess about what I want to eat for the next week; what am I going to think about?
Well… food memories I suppose… and with that comes my food-favorites list. If I didn’t have any desire to actually ingest anything, I would think about what I remembered loving, and organize the dishes accordingly.
